There is a massive fire outbreak at
Mobil filling station at Oba Akran/Ogba junction, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Public Information
Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim
Farinloye, "the fire started around 6:05am this morning, Wednesday, March
19, when a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres was trying to enter the filling
station but vehicles on queue did not give it free access and in the process an
iron punctured tanker leading to the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as
petrol gushing out and the fire outbreak followed."
Farinloye said, "two cars, 2
buses, including a commercial bus and one jeep suv were burnt down completely.
Fire was brought under control around 7:30am with four fire fighting tankers from state fire service, one from federal and one from manufacturer Association of Nigeria (MAN)."
