The Houston man accused of killing his ex-wife's family collapsed twice in court Friday as the charges against him were being read aloud.
Ronald Lee Haskell, 33, is suspected of shooting dead his sister-in-law, Katie Stay, her husband and the children, ranging in age from 4 to 14, in their suburban Houston home.
Each was shot in the back of the head execution-style after the family refused to tell Haskell where he could find his ex-wife, officials said.
During a probable cause hearing Friday in front of Judge Mark Kent Ellis, a shackled Haskell fell to the ground. Deputies lifted him to his feet and the 33-year-old stood for about another minute before collapsing again.

The 33-year-old, who is facing six capital murder charges, was then removed from the courtroom in a wheelchair.
A video from inside the courtroom obtained by Click2Houston shows the murder suspect standing with his court-appointed attorney Doug Durham by his side.
A few seconds later, Haskell begins to sway, his head slumping forward.
Two deputies are summoned to stand behind Haskell in order to steady him, but despite their efforts the 33-year-old slips from their grip and collapses to the floor.
A group of courtroom officers rush to his side to pick Haskell up. The man is then seen being wheeled out of the courtroom by a uniformed deputy appearing confused.
‘His face, he obviously lost blood in his face, and his knees buckled,’ said Haskell's attorney ‘He's scared. I think he has a limited mental capacity of what's going on.’

Before the collapses, Haskell had acknowledged with a quiet ‘Yes’ a couple of questions put to him by State District Judge Mark Kent Ellis about his legal rights. Ellis ordered Haskell held without bond.

‘Maybe reality is finally setting in,’ said Tammy Thomas, the lead Harris County assistant district attorney in the case. ‘It's not television, this is not fiction. He is facing his consequences.’
Thomas said she expected a grand jury to issue a capital murder indictment.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that the lone survivor of the Wednesday attack, the slain couple's 15-year-old daughter Cassidy Stay, lost a finger while trying to shield herself from a bullet - an action that likely saved her life.
The teenager is currently being treated in a hospital for a fractured skull and a graze wound to her head. Police say she survived by playing dead and was then able to call 911 after her uncle left.
The San Diego County, California, sheriff's office said in a Thursday statement that Haskell's mother, Karla Jeanne Haskell, had reported an argument with her son July 2 at her home in San Marcos, California.
