Howard Webb retires from refereeing – Twitter can’t make enough Manchester United jokes

Howard Webb has declared his retirement following twenty five years being a referee to become Technical Director of Professional Game Match Officials Limited.

The 43-year-old climbed to the highest of his career, taking control of both Champions League final and World Cup final in twenty ten, and as well refereeing during this year’s World Cup in Brazil.

But Webb’s after retiring was, rather unsurprisingly, welcomed on Twitter with a violent flow of Man utd jokes.

Appropriately or erroneously, the referee has actually been accused by fans of disposition in favour of the Red Devils. Here are the pick of the tweets:
